Submissions
Thank you for your interest in submitting works to ECS Publishing for consideration for publication.
We are primarily a publisher of classical choral music. We currently consider for publication new music written for unaccompanied or accompanied chorus, songs for voice and piano or organ, organ pieces, operas and orchestral works. We are not actively seeking to publish new chamber works, band works, works for piano, works for synthesizer or works for handbell choir alone. Although we have some books in our catalog, we are also not seeking to publish new books about music as the financial terms are very different from those in music publishing and the book publishing terms are not in our favor.
To submit works to our company for consideration for publication, we suggest you send a résumé and a list of your most representative musical compositions. You should send us scores for a few of your best compositions from among the genres cited above. If we wish to see more works subsequently, we will let you know. The style of all submitted works should be contemporarily classical and the language primarily tonal. Sung works may be sacred or secular in nature. It is encouraged that English singing translations be provided for works featuring lyrics in languages other than English.
Please let us know up front whether the words and/or tunes contained within submitted works are in the Public Domain (P. D.) or copyrighted. If they are copyrighted, please provide written proof that you have permission to set them from the copyright holder(s). In the event any of your works are accepted, we would have to arrive at terms with the copyright holder(s).
Please cite all text and/or tune sources for all submitted works, whether P. D. or not. Recordings of submitted works are helpful but not required.
We do not consider emailed submissions nor links to websites. Submissions must adhere to the guidelines cited above and should be mailed or shipped to the address below.
We are holding a very large backlog of works to which we are already committed. This limits very much what we can accept, but we are always interested in seeing new works.
Send all required materials to the attention of The Editorial Committee at the address below.
We will not consider music for publication that is currently being considered by other music publishers. Unsolicited submissions from outside the USA will not be returned; unsolicited submissions from within the USA will not be returned without a self-addressed, stamped envelope. We hope you find this information useful.
