This animated setting of an ancient tune (CHRIST IST ERSTANDEN) is fresh and yet timeless. Renaissance rhythms (and the hint of ritornello) pair perfectly with the tune's austere nature. Absolutely stunning with brass quartet, timpani, and percussion, but also could be just as fun with an organist using creative registrations and playing alone. The choral parts are not difficult in terms of notes, but the changing meters and crisp articulations add a bit of challenge.
Instrumental Parts include: Trumpet I and II in B-flat and C, Horn in F (substitute for Trombone I), Trombone I and II, Timpani, Percussion (Shaker, Tambourine, Floor Tom/Tambour), Organ
