Cindy Moyer

Cindy Moyer (b. June 10, 1965) is the Music Department Chair and Professor of Violin, Viola, and Music Theory at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. She holds a B.M., M.M., and DMA in Performance and an M.A. in Theory from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied violin with Gerardo Ribiero, Catherine Tait, and William Preucil. In addition to teaching college violinists and violists, she works with pre-college students through the Humboldt Music Academy and the Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop. She is currently the treasurer of the California Orchestra Director’s Association and a frequent presenter on string pedagogy topics at the California All-State Music Educator’s Conference. She performs regularly as a soloist and in the Arcata Bay String Quartet, the Vipisa Trio (Saxophone, Violin, and Piano), and the Mendocino Music Festival Orchestra.
