Thank you for your interest in submitting works to our company for consideration for publication. E. C. Schirmer Music and Galaxy Music are primarily publishers of classical choral music. We currently consider for publication new music written in the genres of unaccompanied or accompanied chorus, vocal music (art songs), opera, orchestra, string orchestra, pedagogical books for stringed instruments, and books about music. We are not actively publishing in the genres of (symphonic) band music, chamber music, nor piano music.

Kindly follow these submissions guidelines diligently. To submit works to our company for consideration for publication, please send a résumé and a list of your most representative musical compositions. You should send us scores for a few of your best compositions from among the genres cited above, not just a recording of them. If we wish to see more works, we will let you know. Choral works may be sacred or secular. Please let us know up-front whether the words and/or music contained within submitted works are in the Public Domain or copyrighted. If any of them are copyrighted, please provide written proof from the copyright holder(s) that you have permission to set them to music. If any of your works are accepted for publication, we would have to arrive at terms with the copyright holder(s) before moving ahead with a music publishing agreement. Please cite all text and/or music sources for all submitted works whether P.D. or not. Recordings of submitted works are helpful but not required.

We do not consider for publication titles which are currently under consideration for publication by other publishing houses.

We prefer emailed submissions and those sent via Dropbox TM, but unbound paper submissions are also acceptable so that we can scan them to PDFs. Please email, Dropbox TM, mail, or ship your submissions to the attention of The Editorial Committee. Please do not use Google Drive, as it requires a Gmail account to access it. Our contact information appears below. Paper submissions will not be returned.

We prefer emailed submissions and those sent via Dropbox, but paper submissions are also acceptable. However, kindly follow the submissions guidelines above diligently. We are holding a very large backlog of works to which we are already committed. While this limits what we can accept, we are always interested in seeing new works.
